Upon reaching our destination, immerse yourself in a captivating display of parrots and macaws, and learn about their reliance on the clay wall for their daily diet. Enjoy a delicious breakfast overlooking Collpa Chuncho. Afterward, visit a checkpoint and museum for further insights into the region.
Return to our hostel for lunch and take a break before visiting the Quebrada el Gato waterfall for a refreshing swim and kayaking adventure. Learn about the diverse products grown in this fertile land of Mother of God.
As the afternoon fades, embark on a canoe ride upriver to our lodge. Armed with flashlights, embark on a thrilling night walk in search of nocturnal creatures such as insects, arachnids, tarantulas, and the elusive tapir or night monkey lurking near the lodge.
Awaken to the symphony of birds and perhaps the calls of howler monkeys. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on a 30-minute boat ride down the river for a morning of fishing in Gato stream. Test your skills against hungry piranhas while surrounded by lush vegetation and curious monkeys. After the exhilarating fishing experience, take a refreshing swim in the stream, completing an unforgettable morning.
In the afternoon, venture to the Mammal Clay Lick, where you may encounter howler monkeys, deer, and wild pigs feeding. Learn about hunting techniques and local wildlife conservation efforts. In the evening, gather around a fire by the riverbank to share stories of your jungle adventures and learn about the rich culture and history of Tambopata from our knowledgeable guides.
After a restful morning, indulge in a hearty breakfast before embarking on a leisurely 2-hour walk along a trail adorned with medicinal plants. Engage in discussions about survival techniques amidst the jungle’s challenges. Alternatively, enjoy sport fishing in our stream, using local bait to reel in Tambopata fish, which can be savored during lunch if desired.
Following our meal, bid farewell to Alto Tambopata as we pack up and embark on a scenic boat ride downstream for 20 minutes, followed by a van journey back to Puerto Maldonado.
